Pam Battle knew her sons needed a better opportunity than what was being afforded to them in Washington, D.C.’s poorest neighborhood. Only 42 percent of those students attending the public high school will graduate.
So she did what any loving mother would do – gave them a fighting chance by enrolling them in the D.C. Opportunity Scholarship Program.
According do The Daily Signal:
The program provides low-income families vouchers to send their children to private schools, and has shown a promising ability to increase graduation rates. However, many—including teachers unions, the Obama administration, and the education establishment—have worked to shut down the program.
